[eBook] Free - Walt Disney: A Life From Beginning to End/Marie Antoinette: A Life From Beginning to End - Amazon AU & US

1390

Two little freebies for your Kindle. Both books are part of the hourly history series which means they will take you about an hour to read so one could say it is a bit of a beginner's biography. Good enough to get a few interesting facts and a little bit of insight into the lives of these two figures of history. Reviews for both books are pretty good.
Note: These books are free at time of posting: read the page and do NOT use 1 click to buy in case the free offers expire and you purchase the books by accident.

And a prick of a slavemongering boss
      And sexist
And probably a lot of other things.

A truly awful person. Walt Hitler?

I wonder how honest this book is..

You can’t judge historical people by modern standards.

For example, if you have a dog now in 100 years you may be regarded no better than an 1850 Southern US plantation slave owner. Worse if you eat meat.

The mind boggles to think where the current trans rights movement will go just in the next 20 years.

I wonder what people will think of abortion in a 100 years.

Oof love this age-old argument of defending and trying to relieve a famous white man from his racism, slavery and bigotry.

          •

@BrutallyHonest: Better than many people defending the living black man Louis Farrakhan who is far worse …… today.

@SamR: Ah yes, you pulled out a reference to an obscure man I had to look up on Google and it rhymes along with "black" and "Islam" - your defence against Walt Disney's alleged racism and slavery. Nicely done.

Slavery was also abolished long before..

Isn't it basic common sense, people from a time when racism was considered normal and correct, were racist. Same with any other time period and thing that was prevalent in that period.

Court is also religious, religions generally have a dislike for homosexuality.

Walt Disney was cremated two days after his death and an urn containing his ashes were interred at the family mausoleum in the Forrest Lawn Cemetery of Glendale, California. It was a small, private service attended only by his wife, Lillian, his daughters and their husbands and children. — How a strange rumor of Walt Disney’s death became legend
