Wow, the full description is literally two clicks away, a fraction of the effort it took to type that question.

      It’s live mario kart

    • +3

Short version it's a VR Mario Kart game. It uses a remote control car that has a camera which feeds to the switch, which then transposes traditional elements of an MK game onto the video feed that the car records.

      • Cheers mate, didn't actually think I was asking anything too controversial haha

  • +20

Good idea but literally the world's most expensive DLC. Want new maps? You need to buy a new house.

    • So true..

    • +3

Limited to your own house only? Cannot play in the park? Friends' house? School? Company? Shopping center?

      • +2

Bold of you to assume I'm allowed outside, have friends or an education.

      • you can play it wherever you have access to a wifi connection. Unsure if the switch needs to be docked or not though.

        • No, can definitely be played handheld as well

  • +5

I feel like this would be fun for like 30 minutes.

    • Yep, I reckon it's a bit gimmicky, plus would just be annoying to set up or even packup and resetup each time.

      • +1

Very quick to set up. What makes it fun is, what it comes with is just checkpoints. You use what you have in the house as obstacles, like ramps or kids toys.

        • I eat my words then! I'll consider it if it's easy then haha.

  • +1

I think if this was like $50 I'd consider getting it just for the toy kart, it looks pretty nice on display i guess

  • This is fantastic. Had it since launch. Need a big space unless you run behind it. Make sure there are no walls around the course, it loses connection. Really fun!

  • +1

Does it get old? I feel like my small apartment full of kids toys already means I have very limited options and it'll just collect dust after the initial novelty wears off.

    • +1

Look it's a lot of fun, and the karts look really slow to the eye but when you're playing through the switch it gives a real sense of speed. The courses can be quite complex too, despite only having 4 checkpoints (you can cross over tracks, run up and back on the same part of track etc), but yeah it does get a little old. If you don't have much room you will be limited on course layouts and this would make it worse.
      Also no good on carpet.

      • I think I'll pass… even though it looks like a lot of fun, it probably wouldn't work in my apartment :'(

        • +1

Yeah, good choice. You do need a big open space, otherwise, the fun is limited. But, your kid's toys will come at an advantage. You include them in the course setup and when you're looking at your Switch, they appear like giant objects.

  • I'm getting the ads for a $50 voucher when subbing to ebay plus. I am currently not a member but have redeemed this deal before, would I be eligeable to take this up again?

  • Looks like BigW Ebay is sold out. However, Amazon has the Mario or Luigi versions for $109.

  • I want to give a medal to the guy that bought the last 9 lol .
I have no doubt heading cheaper .

    • LOL, 32k feedback, obviously think he's making money off them

      • I can buy 23% off at BigW site using GET10 + 2000pts offer and 5% off gift cards but no way will buy it at $84 .
Much better stuff to attack .

  • +1

I bought 2 of these for the kids at Christmas (ages 8 and 5). They have played it once…so…decide accordingly.

    • boys or girls?

      • 1 boy (5 yo), 1 girl (8 yo) and they are both gamers…

It probably comes down to how many other games they have, so if they don't have many others you would probably get more mileage.
