[Solved] Looking for a Plan Including Local Calls, Text, MMS Photos, MMS Videos, Some Data and a Couple of SMS to Italy

Thanks for the help.

We've decided to go with an Aldi Mobile plan, and just have to email videos.

A friend is looking to change mobile plan.

I was about to recommend Boost, but they now charge for MMS photos and MMS videos. (The plan only mentions free talk and text; no MMS mentioned; support confirmed there is a "variable" cost which they could not point me to)

My friend makes:
- local calls
- local text
- sometimes sends photos via MMS
- sometimes forwards videos from friends via MMS
- probably uses 5GB or less a month
- sometimes communicates with distant relatives in Italy (maybe <5 SMS a year)

She's with Woolworths Mobile, but it wasn't till after we joined that we found out that MMS video isn't included.
(She gets the $10 add on, for her prepaid 6 month plan, to prevent problems)

I've been helping her to spend $10 to $25/month on her mobile.

Any recommendations on other plans?

Why dont you just use a different platform to send images? Like Whatsapp.
Or upload images/videos to a site like Imgur/Youtube and then send them the link?

    • She's not keen on Whatsapp as she used to get contacted by people she didn't know (eg spammers from some other country), added by people she knew to groups she didn't want to be in and was concerned about the potential security vulnerability found a while ago.

Convenience etc. If she's wants to send someone a picture from a shop (eg asking what someone wants on the shelf) then she doesn't plan to keep the picture.
It also seems like a hassle, trying to connect in those situations, when the signal may be weak (eg downstairs in a shopping centre), uploading a picture, then posting a link etc.

If a friend MMS's her a video, she can download it and email it. It's just that she forgot a couple of times and wiped out the Woolworths credit on her account, so if MMS video were included or used credit in a reasonable amount, that'd be good.

      • FWIW, I get spam messages more often via SMS than by Whatsapp.
