    Looks awesome!

Absolutely. I've had my eye on this since its launch last year.
The only thing I would do is substitute one of the dials for a moon phase. The master's collection has it but are less attractive than this watch.

I've been a watch collector for over 30 years , it's a nice enough watch , but for the OP to say that it holds really great value isn't quite true.

    • Probably should rephrase that. It's great value for the price. Does it retain value? I don't think it would lose too much value on the current sale price. In 10 years you can probably still sell this for 2.5k if in good condition.

  • A watch for Sir Thomas Blamey

    Rolex better.

True , only one secret to buying a watch that you won't lose money on ,and that's to buy a stainless steel Rolex.

      • Rolex' are like Mercedes. Nice, but not de la creme. Plenty of watch brands that are equivalent of Ferrari's, Lambos, etc… And they appreciate more over time.

        • Like what? , go and try and buy a Rolex Submariner and your local dealer will put you on a 2 year waiting list ….if you're lucky.

          • @Cheep Charlie: Patek, AP, VC… Plenty.

            • -1

@mandelbrot: Yes , plenty of Patek, AP, VC available , but it's the scarcity for Rolex that keeps the prices up , it's just supply and demand that makes them a good investment.

            • @mandelbrot: I think people also easily dismiss Grand Seiko. It doesn't hold the same ring in watch enthusiasts hearts but is superior to Rolex etc. With their movement.
Grand seiko's 9SA5 movement is one of the most accurate mechanical movements in history.

Then you have the 9R01 spring drive with 184 hour power reserve, amazing feats.

          • @Cheep Charlie: In all fairness the submariner is not a watch I would spend my money on. I have no idea why it's so popular.
The only Rolex other than the milgauss (which I will get one day) would be the Rolex Daytona.

      • The Rolex perpetual is the only watch sub 10k.
I am planning on getting the milgauss. That won't happen for a good 10 or so years .I'm happy to have a nice range of watches for now rather than a few really expensive ones.

    • Patek Philippe is better.

      • Patek Philippe is a better watch than Rolex , but it's a niche market , and you'll need mega bucks to even think about getting any of their models . Also if you buy the wrong model , trying to re sell it could turn out to be very hard.

Tempting OP. Just had my 30th birthday and looking for a gift to myself, as my parents gave me some cash and said I must put it toward something special. I always save gift money…

That is one beautiful looking watch.
