Is there any go to candle brand, the large cylinder ones in a glass that are relatively good value, like $15-30?

IKEA has released candles in collaboration with Byredo this year. This is one of the best brands in the world when it comes to perfume and scents, pretty expensive. You should check them out.

Great. I will check it out. The ones for the last decade are so subtle in comparison with normal scented candles.

Yankee Candles! Yum… We get ours from the States when we visit since they're cheaper and have a bigger range (been running a bit low since COVID!) but Spotlight sells them. They smell amazing, and last for ages.

Glasshouse Candles are legit. Made in Australia as well, misses has a few. They smell insane!!!
Yeah burning one of these now but they're still $50.
I think there's a dead possum rotting underneath the house and no way to get to it, so going to have to burn some candles for a few weeks in a few rooms in the meantime….SIGH.
Glade do $3 deodorising air fresheners. Those would be far more effective dotted around the house.

Ecoya is the best. Soy wax unlike Glasshouse so less smoky and toxic. Often 20% off at Myer of DJs. Great scents and quality. Yankee candles are more cheap looking and Glasshouse too expensive for cheap wax they use.
burning paraffin wax produces soot with particles that can remain suspended in the air for hours. The University of South Florida study showed that these ultrafine soot particles are similar to diesel exhaust in both their size and composition. They penetrate deeply into the lungs and are absorbed into the blood stream. Ultrafine particles are associated with allergies, asthma and other respiratory diseases, as well as heart attacks, strokes and even cancer.
And a study by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency showed that soot emissions from candles containing fragrances are significantly higher than those from non-scented candles.
Use essential oils for fragrance. Essential oils can be placed in a diffuser or in bathwater to create a wonderful aroma. Simmer spices. Place spices such as cinnamon sticks, cloves and nutmeg in a pot of water and let it simmer on the stove. Create potpourri. Dried items such as flowers, berries, fruit rinds, wood chips and spices can be placed in bowls or fabric bags and placed around your home.
You mention simmering on the stove. This is not the best idea if you have a gas stove and are concerned about air quality.

Everything kills us though in enough concentration, I would imagine coal bbqs definitely wouldn't improve health.
Using the extraction fan whilst cooking would help a lot with this.
Muji have good affordable options.
Their tin candles were always great but not seen them in a while, they currently have fragrance stones which are nice, you just drop around 10 drops of essential oil on them and they let off a nice smell.
I've tried so many brands… Sometimes even the expensive candles don't generate any perfume, which is frustrating.
Some Yankee are good, but not always.
I've been buying Cereria Molla for about 2 years, and I like them. Got the first two candles in Melbourne from a "everything must go" sale. After that, I found a few online stores that sell the brand.
I'm a fan of the IKEA $4 ones - I go through a lot of candles, these also smell nice and last awhile.
