  • what's their sizing like, TTS?

    • I've got a couple of the large, and one was a little bit comfier than the other (one is just a bit smaller than the other).

How that happens I have no idea…

        true to size

side note - bought 2, but haven't received any confirmation email (but it's in my Orders list)

    • I have a medium (different item, but still macpac) that's probably just barely smaller than expected. They're fairly close to what you'd expect.

Not sure why you've been down-voted, that's true - and also very Ozbargain!

    • +4

I've searched op shops high and low for hiking/bushwalking gear, it is hard to find good quality stuff

      • +1

need to go to the more expensive suburbs.. i found a couple of patagonia fleeces at a 2nd hand store in South Melbourne a few weeks ago.

        • +3

Op shops are great for finding stuff you don't really need. If you need something specific, they're terrible. For example, you might have to go to 20 shops to find your fleeces. It's great when you stumble across them, but quite difficult if you're targeting specific items.

I also find that 'expensive suburbs' doesn't necessarily mean better items, just more expensive

    • +5

That applies to almost anything posted here…

BRB, downvoting all food deals because it's cheaper to dumpster dive

Ok this was funny yesterday but today it's just sad

  • I'm also seeing that one is $65

    • +2

      Add two to your cart.

Also, it's not "Free Shipping over $100", but "Free Shipping for $100 or more".

    • +2

When you add 2 items and go to the checkout it comes up as $100

  • Great deal, just bought 2. Thanks OP

  • +7

I have a few of these. They are rather light weight and not what you would use when very cold.

    • +10

which would make these great for layering

      • +1

        Expensive layers.

    • Thank you, this is helpful to know.

  • +6

Usual price seems to be $65 each, so a real savings of $15 each.

    • The usual price is $130

      They're half price at $65

If you buy two they're $50 each

      That's a saving of $80 each, not $15

      • Listed price may be $129 but no way it's worth that much. I think the initial price is inflated like the Kathmandu model.

$50 is bearable and is reasonable as long they don't pill in 6 months.

How does this compare to the kathmandu/northface one? I have both of these and unsure if I need a third one lol

    • Yes you do! :)

  • good as a top layer for jogging?

    • +1

I find fleece too warm for running but if it's very cold I might use it at the start until I warm up

    • +1

You will probably overheat with moderate exercion.

Fleece is great warmth-for-weight, and dries very quickly. But mostly for walking/hiking/dog walks etc.

I'd get something thinner for running (long sleeve + vest, or light polyester jacket)

  • Just picked these up at the Caneberra Outlet Centre for the wife and I. Thanks OP

    • whats the sizing like? thanks

      • Sizing is fairly standard, I reckon. I'm usually a L-XL and a Large for this was right on.

  • +1

I usually either wear XL or L but with Macpac, I find M still slightly bigger but with a layer underneath, M is the better sizing than L for me.

  • $50 more to get pockets.

  • +2

I got one of these recently but looking at my email, I paid $36 for it. From memory it was a clearance sale they were running. There wasn’t heaps of colours available at the time.

Great jumper, I wear it all the time and it’s quite warm. Not super warm though in the wind, but decent. It’s very light so it doesn’t feel heavy and cumbersome.

I wear a S and it feels like it could be an M anywhere else, so they are on the large side.

Macpac make quality clothes - thanks OP i'm in for two. One for me and one fo the missus….at least she can't get too mad when (eyes rolling) another package arrived? Me, "open it, it's for you" :)

  • These will go great with my new skeckers https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/610874

  • I bought a Macpac Sherpa hoodie a couple of years ago. After a second wash it looked like it was 20 years old. Complete junk.

    • +1

Yes, that's what prevented me from getting this. I went to the shop to check these tops out, and while they look nice on shelf, after a few washes they look 'old.

They would be warm though, one just has to manage expectations on appearance over time.

  • +2

Even 50 bucks for a fleece top seems expensive

    • +1

Agree given plain colours and no real patterns or distinction. Just an advert for their company.

I'd rather get Uniqlo fleece on sale which is much cheaper without a silly logo advert.

  • For some reason, only the weard colours are available in medium size.

  • Ordered 2x2XL different colours, free shipping. Thx OP.

  • How does this compared to the decathlon hiking ones?

  • This pullover is really warm, but it doesn't breath too well, so sweat is trapped inside.
