Woolworths - Editing order when new specials week rolls over?

The last time that I shopped at Woolworths I realised that you were able to edit your order until a few hours before collection. It's super handy and a great feature.

I was thinking about doing an order today of a load of special offers, of which none are urgent. Has anyone tried to set a delivery or collection date a few days in to the future (Wednesday onwards) so that you can edit your basket once the new offers come in on a Wednesday? It would effectively mean that you could get two different weeks of specials in a single order and save on delivery. However, my only worry is whether editing the basket would change the price of the items already in the basket if they were no longer on offer.

Edit: One way around the two trips to the supermarket would be to buy stuff on a Tuesday for a Wednesday pick up and that way all of the new specials are on when you pick up.

Once the new specials come on a Wednesday your old specials, if they are sitting in your cart and not paid for, revert back to original price…therefore, when you do an edit, the prices would change back…

    • Sorry I'm not talking about my unpaid cart. Woolworths have an option to edit your checked out order. So if you check out and pay but then edit it later can you get two weeks of specials?

No. As explained by others once you click edit on existing order, everything will be added back to the cart but with current pricing. once you commit to the changes you pay the new total That's how the order edit function behaves.

Any unpaid items in the cart you added before Wednesday will have updated price by the time you submit the order

        • OK, makes sense. Thanks for clarifying. It's a shame because Woolworths could probably sell more by allowing it. But it's probably a bit if an accounting nightmare.

        • Although I did just think about one hack that you could do with pick ups. I posted it in the original post. It's just a shame it would then be two transactions as I get the 10% off a shop each month with Woolworths insurance.

Have had this happen to me
if you open the cart for editing after the specials change everything in your cart will update in price, so anything no longer on special will be charged at usual price. (counter to this, anything in your cart which is NOW on special will also update to new price)

If you leave your cart alone once specials change then you will get the items at the price they were when they were added to the cart.

    wow very unmoral

    • Why? I'm confused? Woolworths want me to buy stuff from them and couldn't care less about losing out on a delivery fee.

  • Order specials. Pick up during new special period. Grab the new specials in store. You're already there anyway.

    • You can just order pick up on Tuesday for Saturday, then Wednesday for Saturday. Collect both at once.
