These are awesome, had one for 12 months. Can run over your face the same way as a razor, shaves close enough to look good without cutting too much and producing in-grown hairs.

    • +3

Yeah massive fan of mine. It makes shaving so easy and although it doesn't get quite as close as a traditional shaver, it it close enough.

      • +5

is it good for down under guys?

        • +150

Yep, charger is 240v compatible :)

        • +4

Unfortunately not. Great on face but look elsewhere for down under.

        • Yes. I’ve been shaving my man bush for years with this. It doesn’t cut your skin easily.

    • They're great. Not the absolute closest shave but far superior to running razor blades across your face. The replacement blades are like $40 for a 2 pack. They last a long time though, so it's overall well worth it. And far less plastic waste than eg, disposable razors because you never need to throw away the handle.

        and compared to Cartridge razors??

      • whats considered long time? 3 months?

        • +1

Depends how often you use it. Whether using razor blades or this I only shave every 1-2 weeks, but yeah the blades seem to last several months much longer than I find I can use a razor blade. I'm not sure what causes the blades to dull over time, but it may still last months if used daily (I haven't tried). The steep cost of replacement blades are definitely the biggest downside of the unit. I need to buy several twin packs when the blades go on sale (check CamelCamelCamel) because $20 a blade is too expensive. Still worth it for me though. Take my views with a grain of salt.

          • @competecarrot: I've heard that it's the rusting of steel blades that dulls them the most. Apparently if t you dry them and store them in oil they'll stay sharp longer. But that's more hassle than just leaving it wet, especially if you shave in the shower.

        • I am still on original blade after about two years. I shave sporadically - basically once it starts to irritate me every few weeks. So not often, but a heavier job when I do. Probably charge it 3 times a year.

          EDIT 06.06.2018 was purchase date.

Yes, but not good for me with a thicker beard. Using it was a slow and painful hack job leaving patches. Much prefer Gillette Fusion for speed and closeness

      • Did you use it to remove your beard or for a regular trim? It's not really a trimmer, more 5 oclock shadow or close shave type device.

    • how long does the blade last?

      • Depends on your hair, thickness, density, frequency of shaving. Mine has lasted over teo years but I use it maybe once a week, preferring a Philips sensitive rotary head device for daily shaves.

        • How does this compare with the shave from the rotary head?

    • I bought one based on this recommendation
      I hope it doesn't n1ck me.
      Hehe… kill me

    • Im looking for something that cuts without making me have a baby face. would you recommend this?

  • Has anybody found an affordable and decent case when traveling with one of these?

  • -3

    The trimmer is useless

  • +3

Looks good but they recommend the blade be replaced every 4 months with the replacement blade costing $39 for a twin pack??

    • +6

I've been using the OneBlade for 2 or 3 years - it's great, never going back to a normal razor. Ages ago I bought a heap of blades when they went on sale for about $10 each thinking that I should stock. I've barely gone through them and use the blades a lot longer than recommended/than when the wear indicator show. That said when I do finally change a blade, you do notice the difference and kind of think, I probably should have changed this blade sooner.
Regardless of that, the Gillette Fusion blades I used to buy were way more expensive/not long lasting.

  • I've been using this for like 2 years now. The battery is fantastic. Worst part is you have to free-hand trimming your mo

    I like 69 😛

is this safe for my shaft, nuts, and rear end?

  • +1

You're supposed to use the "body kit" for any hair other than face. But I've had this over a year using it on all parts (face, armpits, groin) never an issue. I occasionally clip skin here and there but far less than when with razors. Very happy with it, especially for $69 for the "pro" pack. I've never used it with the attachments so can't speak for if it trims level or patchy.

  • Can I shave my head with it?

    • +1

Probably not: the shave is not that close (five o clock shadow), and the head of the shaver is narrow compared to the typical shaver so using shaving foam and typical razor would probably still yield much better results. I've never tried though so take my opinion with a grain of salt.

  • What's the difference between the one in this deal and this one: https://www.shavershop.com.au/philips/oneblade-pro-010126.ht…

I got no idea. But they have the same name, yet on Phillips website I can't find this model for comparison.

    • That has slightly different lengths on the dial, and it has a display that shows runtime rather than a bar.

As per scottm3’s comment, plus 60 mins vs 90 mins run time as well.

    • the one that shows the digital run time is a shaver shop only exclusive model

  • Would this be any better - https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B07CV4FGB1

Have to agree with some of the comments above, I bought this as a shaver and a beard trimmer 2yrs ago.
Bought it at lunch one day as I needed a trim to present to the board and wanted to look good.
Ended up with a neck covered in razor burn and a scraggy looking 3/4 trimmed beard…

It doesn't "cut" it as a beard trimmer, you literally need to go over the same spot 10times and you still end up with some random long hairs. Maybe it would go better if I replaced the blade more often but I didn't want to buy more than what it came with
I bought a $50 cheapo li-ion battery trimmer off Amazon and it wipes the floor with this thing.
This one, it's $40 now if you want a trimmer this is much better

    • Hmm. So that clipper works as an actual shaver not just a beard trimmer? Do you need to buy replacement blades for it?

      • Would like to know too

      • No but it's good enough to trim my neck and make the beard look tidy. I also bought a Phillips li-ion shaver separately and the two together are a good combo.
The trimmer is good for covid-style haircuts too

        • Got a link or model no on that li-ion shaver?

EDIT - I see link further up the comment chain, thank you.

    • $5 coupon popped up in my Amazon app, which would bring it down to $35. That's pretty cheap

  • Is anyone able to point me to the cheapest place to buy replacement blades for this? Everywhere seems to be $39, hoping I could get it for cheaper.

  • I didn't receive any blades with mine, should they have been included?

    • do you mean none at all, or no additional apart from one installed on it?

based on the pics I would expect it comes with a single blade only

      • I didn't even receive the one installed on it. :(
