Never heard of these games. Interesting.

I like open world games - how does this compare to say GTA?

      Although Mafia 1 and 2 are technically open world, there are not much to do outside the missions. Mafia 3 gives you more freedom, but the quests can get quite repetitive. Expect a lot of (not so exciting) driving missions across the whole series.
      
      They are not at GTA level of replayability but they are worth it for the story, at least when discounted.

      The remaster of Mafia 1 got a bunch of bad reviews due to a lack of open world activities. Haven’t played this version, but apparently they removed a bunch of stuff the original had.
