Seek Opinion on - Scorptec RTX 3080 Desktop Build + Its Service

Looking for a desktop recently to replace my dead Asus 1070 laptop.

Just find a new RTX 3080 gaming pc by Scorptec, the whole build below looks balanced and the cost $4199 is fair enough, also it is in stock and confirm the dispatch should be 1-3 business days. (https://www.scorptec.com.au/product/ready-to-run-pcs/gaming-…)

Just want everyone's opinion on the build, also as I have never purchased from Scorptec before so not sure whether they are reliable.

  • Did you see the R11 and R12 deals? Had a 3080 build for ~$3200 or 3090 build for ~$4700 recently.

They included peripherals and an ok monitor too.

    • I did see those deals but after reading the reviews it looks like both r11/12 have some overheat issues on their CPU/GPU, also currently r11/12 are for Intel cpu.

      • The CPU is watercooled so no heating issue there. The GPU can be fixed with thermal paste (not thermal pad) and a noctua fan. All together is about $50

        • Is there data to back this up or is it just an assumption that water cooling = the best?

          • @original15: Water cooling is the best (discounting exotic cooling) but for value air is better.

            • @gumbo45c: Am sure I’ve seen big YouTube channels (LTT) find the right air coolers are better than AIO, but hey we are talking dell prebuilt here so both could prob be improved. I guess given concerns over airflow in dells water couldn’t be worse

            • @gumbo45c: aio on dell is a 120mm, which underperforms most air coolers

  • +1

Sais its sold out and not accepting new orders, i guess you snooze you lose.

    • I'm thinking of cancelling the order ($2789 Alienware R11 RTX3080 deal), so whoever thinks of getting it contact me.
