Best Gaming Monitors to Go with an RTX 3090

Hi all,

I'm in the process of researching gaming monitors to accompany an RTX 3090. I've been away from the PC scene for about 10 years and am completely overwhelmed with all the options, hence asking for help.

I'm used to working with 27" screens, but also open to ultra-wide and curved monitors. Not interested in TV-size screens so much. Other than that I don't have much preference and would like to explore monitors which are a good company to an RTX 3090.

Budget is flexible.

Thanks all!

Edit: apologies all, main use case would be gaming.

  • You'll need to provide more criteria details on what you're looking for? 4K? 1440p? High FPS? USB-C? HDMI/DP? Panel type preference?

  • These suggestions are all 49 inches, Samsung LC49RG90 or Samsung LC49G95TSSEXXY. The former in my opinion would probably suit you just fine.

    • 2nd. For a non TV, the G9 is the better choice for a 3090 due to the 240Hz refresh rate, which will allow OP to use more of their card's performance on older titles.

OP, these are basically two 27" screens with no frame down the middle. A 48" TV like the LG CX or C1 would be ~100mm narrower but about double the height. So no, these 49" monitors will not look like 48" TV's.

But I would personally go a 48" CX or C1 TV as the thing I hate most about my 34" ultrawide is the screen height. Yes, the Cx and C1's are OLED, but from what I can see, screen burn in is less noticeable than inconsistencies due to zoned back lighting.

If you want to save money, 34" Ultrawide's are basically the same height as a 27" or Samsung's 49" G9, but are ~200mm wider or ~400mm narrower respectively.

  • What is the purpose of the screen.

For fps gaming you want the highest fps and hz display you can afford. PG259QNR is about $1200-1300 for 360 Hz

If you just want a general gaming screen that also can be used for accurate color work then 27GN950 is quite good for the price, around $1500

If you want the top of the range screens then nothing beats a 38GL950G for about $2750-3k for value

  • I have an LG34GN850 34" 1440p Ultrawide paired with my RTX 3090, Great pair imo gpu powerful enough to push out enough fps in most games at this resolution.
