Xoom 3G 32GB for $399. Been going for that price for a while.

    • ahh I see, is it better than the ACER tablet?
BTW…any suggestion for store to buy XOOM from?

  • It's available from Online Computers: http://www.onlinecomputer.com.au/product_info.php?products_i…

Got mine price matched at JB Hifi. They also have the Xoom portfolio case which you can ask for a better price.

    • wow…on JBHIFI website its showing up as AUD 597…
How did you manage to price match it? What did you say to JBHIFI? any tips?

      • At the time I bought it they were asking $644!

I just brought a print out and asked the guy at the tablet section "do you guys price match?", he said "sure, where from?", I flashed the print out and he responded by saying "that's insane, let me ask the manager". He came back after a few minutes with a thumbs-up.

No dramas at all, not sure if it's to do with the competitor just down the road. I guess it wouldn't reflect very good on their price guarantee if they can't even match a competitor a couple of blocks away.

Reasons that I bought it from JB were: no credit card surcharge (for extra year of warranty covered by the credit card and award points), better reputation, optional portfolio case, and they are closer.

        • ahh cool.
How much $$$ did you manage to get portfolio case?

        • It's a tailored Xoom case by Motorola, the listed price is $59 (yeah rip off, it's only $30 in the US). I asked if he can do better, he said $47 and I took it.

The cheapest I can find was an US EBay seller asking $35 plus $10 shipping. Amazon has it for $25 but they don't ship to AU (for that item). Anyway I needed a case without waiting for weeks, so I figured $47 wasn't that bad.

If you read the reviews, many people are complaining that the charge port is covered, so you have to open the case to charge. The ones from JB has a cut out for the charge port, so it's no longer a problem. Must be revised design.

  • After bit of research I found there are two good options within my budget :

    • Asus Eee Pad Transformer TF101 32GB (WiFi + 3G )Tablet
    • Motorola Xoom Wi-Fi 32GB (WiFi + 3G )Tablet

Any specific pick from these two?
Also looking for the store/shop for best price of "Asus Eee Pad Transformer TF101 32GB (WiFi + 3G )Tablet" ?

    • I will go for asus if it's cheaper, for the fact i can pay a bit more to use it with a keyboard dock+battery.

    • Where are you looking at the ASUS TF101 and what is the cost?

      Thanks
