Computer Experts-- Sourcing CPU Fan in an All-in-One

Hi all,

I was tasked with a reinstall of Win 10 to a Toshiba Qosimo DX730. During installation, the unit shut off. I assumed over-heat and when I went to set up my trusty external fans to the intake vents (assuming dust build-up), I found they had been blocked for 9 years! The clear, protective tape had never been removed (to be fair, it was invisible). The PC is absolutely pristine and specs are pretty good for the old lady who owns it.

Upon opening the case, I see the fan is not clogged, but not spinning. The plug is a super-micro 4 pin. The part is T000011750. I've been everywhere I can think & cannot find this ****** fan!

Posting in hopes someone here has an idea I haven't thought of to source this. I sent a form to Toshiba 2 days ago- being an OEM, they'll do F-all. One online place is out of stock- not expecting any more. Other online sources are known scam sites. I even went online hoping to find a dead unit just to scab the fan. Nothing.

Ideas?

TIA

  • Can you find an adapter for an alternative fan, or solder the wires together?

    • I don't have that level of electronics skills to tinker with the fan or a power port with 4 pins so tiny they look like hairs….The plug itself is fragile- I nearly cracked it just pulling it out— and I'm very careful. I just wish there was a source that doesn't come up as either a scam site or no history at all. 🙄

  • Tried Googling T000011750, number of unavailables then a (generic) hit - strange you missed it, no antivirus etc alarm……….stopped but there were more (unchecked) listings

  • How desperate are you, because this ain't cheap. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005002293944660.html?spm=a2…

Also if you search the part number, DFS651712MC0T , some Dell unit come up too.

    • Yeah, I saw that one, too. I just wish Aliexpress hadn't taken nearly $700 off me and then said items out of stock and I had to fight for two weeks to get a refund. Tried another order and it never arrived.

  • Would it be easier to buy a cheapy PC off ebay, comes with better specs and a working fan… win/win.

  • Looks like options are Aliexpress and a rip-off price (where I've had terrible issues & swore never again), or a bunch of highly questionable websites with either poor reviews or no reviews….sigh

    • Use PayPal as your protection? (that's where I'd aim)……..also pharkurnell's post (and I realise there may be "training" issues there)

      • What's sh*tting me is Toshiba not stocking a few (for them) $2 frigging fans! When I finally got a reply from them— they acted like this was a HP part??? FFS!

Also, this is a literally PRISTINE PC. The specs are very good and even includes TV. Honestly— the outcome w/o that idiotic fan is ADDED TO OUR LANDFILL.

Toshiba should have to pay to pick it up, disassemble for recycling AND replace. These companies are BS.

  • Try Jaycar or Altronics or failing these two wes electronics at ashfield or failing these ebay.

    • Thanks. I'll have a look at the original fan when I get back to check hole spacing.

    • Orientation as shown = fan cable wouldn't reach, even if 2 holes lined up. Thanks for the effort. I'm STILL looking for a solution. The person said they were just going to buy something new (as this is 9 yrs old), but I'd rather fix it up and donate it than trash it.
