AtGames are legendary for making absolute trash you wouldn't want to touch.

  • I remember as a youngin about 15 years ago winning a 30 buck gift voucher from a competition at the local mall, taking it to Kmart, and buying the OG Atari Flashback.

It was pretty cool tbh. But ever since Nintendo made these mini retro consoles super popular, it's been an absolute shitshow, 30 is the bloody limit for these things. 5 or 6 years ago Big W had the Mega Drive portable, it was like a cheap plasticy PSP looking thing with a 2 or 3 inch screen, 60 odd Mega Drive games, and you could load more off an SD which was pretty sweet, 30 bucks. I regretted not picking one up on clearance for 15 but the price hike they've ALL had since the NES Classic, it's ridiculous.

They used to offer a fun, pleasant looking, easy to use experience, a great way to introduce someone to some genuine classics, as it was with me even, now it's just an overpriced cash grab, and with the rise of digital distribution since then, a lot of the better games have since decided to (profanity) off entirely and sell themselves digitally, further reducing the quality of these things.

    • wait till u see the price of the upcoming atari console lol

But I think you may break the unit before Ralph does :D

The spray squeegee is more interesting. Washing windows or shower screen, does it work well?

    • Ha! I've been meaning to get a dish wand for the shower screen and fill it with dish washing detergent + vinegar (saw it on some TikTok hack crap). They're quite small to use on a shower screen though. Randomly saw the spray squeegee tonight and thought perfect! Will let you know this weekend :)

      • I want to see the results too!

I've got the MegaDrive version of this console BTW. Looks physically the same, so now I'm wondering if I can hack these 'legends' games onto it somehow.

Edit: I take that back, mine has a physical cartridge slot and no HDMI output.

  • Could someone please explain what's bad about this?

Probably the build quality on the controls. Would be interesting to see if they are the USB controls or the ones with the sega port on them.

Edit: Imitation sega controllers with the old Genesis port. If anyone here buys this, apparently you can have it run as a Genesis emulator and use genuine Genesis controllers on it.

    • As Trafalgar says - the provided controllers are terrible. Even the generous reviews tend to only review the console and ignore the controllers.

On top of that some games don't run well and have framerate issues and input lag.

  • I picked up the last one at Stanhope gardens NSW and looking forward to playing it tonight after work.

  • Apparently three left at Kmart Cockburn Gateway.

  • Can't find it anywhere near Sydney, can you tell me if anyone found any near Parramatta.

  • Anyone know if there’s stock around VIC? Thanks

    • 4 left at Greensborough

      • Ok thanks. Do you know any stores closer to CBD have stock?

        • From what was told Greensborough was the only store showing stock, could try calling your closest store and ask if they don't have it if any stores close by have any

          • @hm: Thanks hm. Called my local store, that’s the only which has stock.

            • @PLA74: Hopefully that helps someone
