More Powerful LED Light than a Plugged in Night Lamp

Is there a more powerful version of light that does plugs in to a power point that I can buy, something like this. Ths is 1.2 W

More powerful than a night lamp is what I want, LED would be great. Doesn't need to have a sensor. Can buy online or ebay.
Ebay has some 7W ones like this www.ebay.com.au/itm/293145447778 will these be more powerful ?

Around same Watts, I think you should just keep room lights on (with a LED globe) at night…

    • Yeah that wattage is pretty much a normal room LED light.

For the night light form factor could get something like this:

(not that I make any comment on how compliant or safe that is)

    • 1.2 W vs 7W

  • Go into the closest light shop near you or if you do not have one try Bunnies. Allot of light shops do not have all of their stock on their web sites.

I have these in my kitchen and laundry. Enough light to make baby bottles at night.

Are you asking for a lamp?

  • Plugs into a normal light bulb in the ceiling. Turns on automatically if it detects movement. Much brighter than the night lights.

    • and how/when does it switch off? (no info on site)

      • Upon detection of movement, light turns on for X period of time. Different brands have slight variations.

Think of it like a security light.

  • You haven't specified how bright is really required but you may be surprised how much light a 1W LED puts out.

I have one of the below; it's 1W, so lower than the Bunnings one you linked.
You can read by it from metres away, it casts sharp shadows in the room and reflects enough into a dark central corridor to navigate at night.

If you go much higher than that, you may as well use a lamp, as others have said.

  • You could also just get a smart bulb like LIFX. Chuck it in a lamp and set the brightness % to whatever you want.

  • get something like this and dim as you need. that's what I do.

  • Perhaps I should have explained why? I have a corner in the garage where I have installed cupboard. There is a power socket on the nearby wall, so I thought it would be easy to just buy some kind of light that just plugs in, instead of getting a electrician to fix a bulb holder. There is no place to keep a lamp. The garage has a bulb in the middle but the switch is on opposite side, I don't want to walk the other way just to open the cupboard.
