Myer and David Jones advertise $749. Myer would not price match kitchenaid products whereas David Jones will.

Initially drove to David Jones Chermside Brisbane QLD, an older lady sales person said they would not price match because "David Jones" classifies yourhomedepot.com.au as a warehouse wholesaler that has a shop front.

I told her that yourhomedepot.com.au classify themselves as a retail store with a physical sales floor and address (Looked online and I also called yourhomedepot). The sales lady couldn't really tell me the difference between this store and what "david jones" classifies as a retail store.

I was then offered a 10% off discount and a credit card with 3years interest free - I declined this offer.

I THEN called David Jones Garden City, Brisbane QLD, and asked if they would price match the website - the sales person said yes and we made a sale after I drove there. No hassles, they accepted the online printout.

+1 for David Jones Garden City, -1 for David Jones Chermside.

What I learnt from today was call the store first.

Also from a little research the next comparable brand is Kenwood but kitchenaid is quieter. You are paying a slight premium for the best.

  Good price but I bought KA Heavy Duty KPM5 from Costco for $699. Double size of mixer bowl. I like it better.

    yeh not in brisbane unfortunately. I wouldn't of gone through all that hassle but my partner couldn't wait 2days for shipping and wanted the satisfaction of carrying something home today (some weird female thing)

  The guy at DJs forgot to add the cost of delivery to the final price. I live near Your Home Depot and DJ but cannot make myself buy the Kitchen Aid because they are overpriced. They sell it for half the price in US.

    your home depot is free shipping
    also if you buy kitchen aid products from the US that are 220V (designed for australia) it comes to $550 (amazon.com), not going to bother with buying power converters and international warranty. cant do much else if you live in australia.

      if you buy the US model it is around $282 but you have to worry about converting power. amazon sell both the 110V for $282 and the 220V for $550. what's the difference for manufacturing? Kitchenaid just know that they set the price and people will buy.

    The guy at DJ did not forget to add shipping as there is nothing mentioned about shipping in DJ price promise policy.

  i'm really annoyed about this - i went to david jones in perth and asked them to price match petersofkensington.com.au and the woman refused. would have saved me about 10-15%. this was only about a week ago…
