  • So is there an actual deal for this item specifically or is it just the combination of latitude pay and cb deal? The description is a bit confusing.

    • Actual deal on the item is $54.99, but add a $5.01 item to your order and pay by latitude pay, you get a $ 20 discount ++ standard 8% cashback from Cashrewards

      • +1

Ah I understand now, so it's just because this item is quite popular and you found a way to get it cheaper. Makes sense now, thanks.

    • There's an actual deal, but you have to have Kogan Members First.
Without Members First, price is $89.99 + postage.
      With Members First, it's $54.99.
Add get the transaction total up to $60 and you can use latitude pay to get another $20 off, making the blinds driver cost $34.99, though you're spending at least $40.

  • anyone actually tried these?

    • a few past deals on this item link to those

    • I have 4 of these, hooked up to Google Home, and I'm going to get a couple more from this deal. I really like them, and they have a good WAF. If you don't want to bark commands in the morning while people are still asleep, you can control them using a remote or pressing up/down/stop buttons on the motor casing.

In Google Home, I can add timed routines to open/close at a set time of day. I use a command to start the routine, which opens all my blinds when I say, "hey Google, open sesame" (she says "yes master" and opens the blinds).

The Kogan devices all work on the Tuya network, so I use the SmartLife app for all of these. I've bought a few of these from China (through AliExpress), and they're exactly the same, work in the SmartLife app, come with remotes, etc. Usually the ones from China are around $60 (depending on exchange rate), but they take a while to ship. Kogan first sold these for $189, so anything under $100 is a pretty good deal.

These work well with blinds using the beaded cords. Ones with string are OK if then open/close with minimal force, but they can sometimes slip over time and the open/close point shifts.

      • I’ve tried to connect mine to google home but when I try to turn on wifi mode on the driver by pressing the up and stop simultaneously, the red and blue flash instead of just the blue. And the app doesn’t pick up the device either.

        Did you have similar issues?

  • Noob question. Can you set limits on this? ie. If the blinds are already halfway down/up, and you ask Google to open/close the blinds, will it know when to stop turning when the blinds have reached the bottom/up limits?

    • Yes, you can set limits. You will have to set the parameters of top and bottom. Once done, you can tell Google to close/open the blinds XX%.

      • Thanks for the response.
