  • I have no experience in this machine.

In all honesty though spend a little more and at least get this at the minimum - it's at least got a brand to it.

If you're after an espresso machine

If you just want a pod machine ALDI does fine.

    • Thanks for the information.

I've currently got L'OR BARISTA Coffee Machine - Piano Noir Latte (LM8014/60) works with the Nespresso pods.

While the machine makes great coffee the milk frother could be better.

I was mainly looking at the Milk frothing - just assumed the steam wand would be better and now Coles has it down to $59 might be a bargain hehe :)

  • What's the difference between a cheap espresso machine and a 2 thousand dollar one

  • +1

I made an account just so I can say that I have one! I wanted so badly to find reviews on this and there is NOTHING out there! But I bought one the day it went on sale (so very sad it is reduced now to $59!). It's an Ok machine. I bought it because in the end all I wanted was a milk steamer and this milk steamer is good! I used to work in a cafe like a decade ago so am not a coffee snob but know basics about making coffee and this heats up enough for 2 cups (cold milk) in under a minute. There is a cover for the milk spout with a handle to move the spout around but when you take the cover off you cannot move the spout at all as its too hot (hot metal) which sucks. The machine as a whole is also very light so putting the coffee in is infuriating because you gotta really lock it in to the right, but the machine is too light to hold itself down, so you're trying to lock it in but the whole machine moves so I have to hold the machine down to get it in. Maybe I put too much coffee? Eh, it was not easier with less coffee. Plus, if you haven't locked it in tight it comes apart and falls from the machine too into your clean cup, grounds everywhere. But this sat in its box for so long and I only pulled it out this weekend so barely used it (only about 4 times) but I guess that's my first impression. I believe this can take pods but I've yet to read up on that in the manual so haven't given it a go yet. All in all for $99, it does the job and I don't hate it. I would be more upset if I spent $500 only to find little annoying nuances. So if you want the bare basics and a milk steamer, I say go for it. Hope this helps!

    • Ok well I did go in on the weekend and they still had some so i thought I'd just buy it and see how it turns out.

It ended up being $39.99 when I went through the check-out. I haven't used it yet so it is still sitting in the box.

Based on your feedback i think it will do the job for milk if the pod function is no good and i can continue to use my L'or machine - Thanks for the feedback!

Will do an update with feedback once I have used it :)

  • Feedback time:
The machine isn't bad - I used the pod adapter and it works well with the original line nespresso capsules.
As lanaone mentioned the machine is very light so when trying to lock in the coffee / pod adapter can be annoying - just need to hold the machine down :)
Now this is the first milk steamer I've ever used, but it appears to work well and heats up / froths the milk pretty quick.

I basically use the machine as a dedicated milk frother - and for $39.99 seems like it was worth it, might upgrade if/when this falls apart :P

  • I have a Breville Coffee machine with grinder costing $900, but I bought this for $79 from coles for my gf who only had instant coffee at home. I have used it 3 times and the above comments are correct. On the Pros side.. for the money this makes as good a coffee as you can imagine or more. Its a good brew and froths milk just fine at good temperature and doesn't take long to heat up. You will not taste a difference from this compared to a fancy machine.. it does the job, you'll love the coffee and money in your pocket. On the Con side… it feels cheap and light so the quality isn't there but neither is the matching price tag. You will find yourself holding the machine to the benchtop as you tackle the instruments because its so light, this will be the most annoying aspect especially if you have used a bigger machine like i'm used to. In summary, if you want a good coffee machine at a low price with good coffee shop tasting coffee.. you will be happy. I have spent more on takeaway than the cost of this machine, so you won't be disappointed.
