New Take Away in Melbourne Western Suburbs - Were Can I Get Suppliers?

Hello guys,

Can anyone share where they get their supplies to run their catering and restaurant business in Melbourne Western suburbs?

We are soon to be taking over a take away store and we do have a few suppliers.

So far our suppliers will be Alpha seafoods services, Tibaldi

We are mainly looking for Asian grocery supplies and fresh vegies delivery. Can anyone please share their suppliers who deliver?

Thank you,

Damien

Location of your city will help. What food?

If you're doing fish and chip takeway, please make your own batter for fish and potato cake/scallops.

Would definitely stand out compared to the rubbish pre-cooked frozen fish and potato cake/scallops that most fish and chip places sell these days.

    • Yeh true, those premade frozen potato cakes suck. Im in melbournes western suburbs

      • What food?

its mainly crispy pork Banh mi, burgers, chips , etc.
The owner now makes his own batter for potato cakes and its nice. Will have to continue that recipe

  • all the best with the takeaway business, its not easy esp. with covid and lockdowns on small businesses.

Consider things that Costco sells, I saw some buy bulks for their business. They sell supplies too. All the best!

  • Fingers crossed for OP

Hope the requested info relates to seeing if local contacts exist rather than business start up, with food being a difficult one.

Can anyone share where they get their supplies to run their catering and restaurant busines in Melbourn Western suburbs

Why not ask the people who currently run the store who they use?

Once you get the hang of things you can start to explore other options to source the food.

The best tip I can give you, is if the place is busy/making money now, don't change anything for 6 months. You need to understand what sells and what doesn't and your customers like what was there already.

So many good places get sold and the new owners change EVERYTHING on day 1 and then wonder why all the customers leave!

They say to check on OzB first ;)

    • Wise advice! Hopefully the OP follows it!

You’ll need a dry goods/frozen supplier. The big ones are bidfood, pfd, superior

Fruit and veg big ones are In2food, moreco

Given you are small you might find better smaller ones that suit you
