Telstra Velocity Provider help

Hi
I’m moving to a house that only has Telstra verlocity internet.

Do any other providers support this service?

How do I go about accessing this? I saw something old about requesting a free to air package and that allows you to connect to another provider.

Telstra. But it has been bought out though https://www.zdnet.com/article/uniti-picks-up-telstra-velocit…

Good luck. It is a pretty ordinary network from what I have heard.

    • Maybe uniti will be cheaper. I can only hope.

      • Wishful thinking.

Only Telstra for now. When it first came out, it was meant to be the NBN killer. But then they screwed up the uploads

Maybe an Optus 5g modem would be a better option?

      I think so.

    • I get between 15 to 30mbps download depending on time of day.
I have never seen uploading speed go above 2 mbps. Whenever someone uploads a picture on facebook or something, the internet becomes unbearable.
Half the time I just end up using my 4g hotspot.

Unfortunately there's no 5g coverage in my area but I would definitely recommend it if you can get it.

Had it for two years, You can get speedboost applied to it now to bring it up to 80/5Mbps but it will bring the monthly cost up $20 as well.

Over the two years I had it, I had nothing but issues. It would drop out for about 30 seconds several times a day or slow to a crawl until I turned the box off in the garage for 5 minutes and Telstra basically attempted to extort me over the phone when I complained. It wasn't till I got the ombudsmen involved that they sent a tech out to replace the NTD outside and then it worked "Good" for about 2 months before it slowly started dropping out more and more again.

Overall, Telstra support was beyond terrible. The service itself is only good when it works (I know right!!!), the cost is more expensive then NBN's 100/40Mbps and it's still slower. If you use the internet heavily like me and your experience is similar to mine it's likely you would wish to have not moved in to the house at all. (Which had I known Telstra basically owned a monopoly on my internet connection I most certainly would have moved elsewhere)

Also to add, When I first set the connection up I was only allowed 25/1Mbps because "The service was congested and could not handle higher speeds"
