        Even my 1080 will run most games at more then 50fps, and if its one of the many games that don't have super high requirements you can easily get 100+fps.

  Better to wait for hdmi 2.1. Once it is more common place there will be a ton of old screens that will be dropping in price like dead flies.

  I'm in the market for an 85" TV and Hisense make good value TV's but not a fan of their OS. At this stage it doesn't support some apps that I use e.g. Kayo. So check that any apps you want are supported - unless you are happy to use a smart TV box, Chromecast etc. For me that defeats the purpose of buying a smart TV in the first place. So even though a great price for reputable brand 85" TV, I'll pass.

  PS just noticed, delivery for me is $675, which by itself is a deal breaker

    Better to get an external box to handle your specific needs. Untie yourself from the tv specific software and let it be what it needs to be, a screen for your media.

      Each to their own… I have 5 TV's, 3 of which are smart - and 2 of those are Android, the other Vidaa. In addition I have 2 Android TV boxes, a Chromecast with Google TV (also Android) and an older Chromecast. I use the Chromecast with Google TV on the Hisense TV that runs Vidaa so I can watch Kayo - but I'd prefer to not have to use another remote (need to switch between free to air TV and HDMI input), have additional cables (HDMI & power) or use additional powerpoint. YMMV - and it obviously does.

        Yeah that's fair, I use a keyboard and mouse for the "smart" device/hub and basically leave my tv on that hdmi port. Have come to forget that it's an extra remote in ways

        I've found that decoupling my reliance on the smart tv software helped me with being less picky with TVs and concentrate more at specs/price
