  • 256gb seems a better deal, but im seeing reviews of slow write speeds

    • I have one and it's pretty damn slow, but can't complain for a cheapy.

    I'll translate those specs:

Actual transfer speeds barely better than USB 2.0
There's no such thing as USB 2.7
Encryption is software based, nothing to do with the USB drive.
The product is definitely better quality than the description. Trust us.
The only people who care about looks think they have a modern home, but are still using USB drives.
Just in the time it takes to read this, we've DOUBLED the speed claims.
You'll have lost it or replaced it with something better before the warranty is up. Either that or you'll still be waiting for your file to copy.

    • ^This guy knows how to decode market speak.

      • And he speaks human language…..

    • Plenty of thumbdrives come with hardware encryption. Pretty sure this one doesn't though… And I rarely trust encryption baked into hardware because it's even more impossible to audit than software.

    • I have a few Sandisk Ultras including a 128 and speeds are a huge improvement over USB 2 drives.

You may not get full USB 3 speeds but you can fill them in a few minutes, read speeds are good. Certainly way over what you need for media playback.

SanDisk Extreme Pro is the one u want for fast transfer speeds. Unfortunately it costs a hell of a lot more than this.

Samsung Bar is much better at $19 (C&C) for another week at Bing Lee - https://www.binglee.com.au/samsung-muf-128be4-apc-128gb-usb-…
    Price match at JB Hi-Fi

    • Do I just walk in and ask for a price match? Would the staff generally be sh1tty about it and give me that look as if I am a dirty bottom feeder?

      • True ozbargainers give a rat's a$$ about the looks they get :)
Seriously though, they were very polite and helpful at my local (Eastland). YMMV.
