  • Nice game given the age. Only downside is. If you like playing PC games with controller it doesn't support the wireless Xbox One bluetooth controller. However the controller does work if you connect via USB cable. Just a pain in Windows 10 to reconfigure the controller back to wireless.

I haven’t try it yet but in most of cases you can launch the game from steam and steam will configure controller for you.

  • Wow that was quick - barely 1 hour after I posted this it's been taken down!

  • Loved this game! Highly recommend

  • You can still order this for click and collect. I just ordered one.. enjoy.

  • Damn, been thinking about trying this. Would have for $5

You can still add to cart and order.

      • Can you give a link? OP’s link is broken.

        • Not sure what he's talking about either - link is down and searching their site for Primal returns nothing.

  • I saw it this morning then thought I don't have DVD drive any more so more hassle then what it's worth with DRM. Apex edition for ~$9.50 on epic if someone is interested.

  • I got bored playing this game.

This game is severely underrated, especially on Expert difficulty/Survivor mode (Permadeath) with all of the hardest difficulty settings turned on (no minimap, no HUD, etc); it basically becomes a survival horror experience as you really can't engage enemies (at best you can scare animals off with fire and buy yourself time to escape) and you have to constantly sneak around to avoid being detected as well as be on the lookout for food as you need to constantly eat/sleep to replenish your stamina bar.

Encountering any of the more dangerous animals like Sabertooth cats or cave bears is a very tense experience and every growl in the distance puts you on edge. You end up travelling along rivers a lot as they provide a convenient escape route; save for bears, which can also swim.

I highly recommend playing Far Cry Primal this way for fans of games like Alien: Isolation or Amnesia: The Dark Descent. It plays unlike any other Far Cry game and has a very compelling mixture of stealth, survival horror and FPS.

Permadeath is a bit too much tbh, Who has the time to keep replaying again and again after dying?

      • You can turn it off. Survivor mode, Permadeath and the difficulty level options are separately adjustable, so you can tailor it to your liking.

        • Ah it's good that I can adjust it. I played Far Cry 3, with Ziggy's Mod Hardcore version and hardest difficulty was an amazing and realistic experience.

Just hopefully I have a chance to snatch Primal at $5 again, I always miss it.
