Unlocking Amazon (Buyer) Account

So I never had to buy anything from Amazon until last Saturday I wanted to get an something only sold at Amazon and Cashrewards happens to send me $10 extra cashback so I jumped on the bandwagon. Created new account, verified email, buy thing, made payments, got order confirmation, all good. Next day got an email that my account is placed on hold and pending orders cancelled because of suspicious activity (tf?). Followed the instruction to restore, submitted documents, waited. Another automated email came back saying can't verify ownership of card because documents provided doesn't have CC tail (card is debit card so I don't have statement with card number on it). Fine, resubmit other document. Another automated email came back with literally just dot dot (..) as the reason. Called their 1800 number. Customer services promised their "Account Specialist" team will review and send me an email. Another automated one came back. I've tried submitting photo of the card but still insufficient it seems.

Has anyone had experience with this, how tf should I get it to unlock?

  • Looks like amazon does not want your business!… time to look at alternatives?

OP, I had similar issues for the first few orders on my Amazon account (they were of quite high value though).

I had to send a few emails off to [email protected], as well as [email protected] to get it sorted.

  • I've had the same issue multiple times. In my case, I tried to buy a DVD on the US website. It said that it could be shipped to Australia, so I went ahead and bought it, using the same login, credit card & address as my Amazon.au account.

I got the email saying that order was received, but then after a minutes got another email that my order was on hold & account was locked. I then submitted the documents to verify my card, and the account was unlocked.

I tried to buy it again with another card, but the exact same thing happened again. Account locked again & had to submit the documents again, to get the account unlocked again.

I then gave up & bought the DVD on eBay.

Amazon have grown so big now that they've stopped giving a XXXX about customer service.
