Cheap Galvanised Garden Bed

Tossing up between Birdies garden beds or another alternative.

Wondering what people think of this garden bed? Comparing it to Birdies it is a lot cheaper, and is also galvanised steel.

Anyone had experience with non-birdies galvanised steel beds? How was the quality?

Or should I just spend extra and buy Birdies instead?

Thanks!

Not a fan of that internal bracing it would be getting in the way all the time when digging and planting

Could you try and build your own from either stone, wood, steel or bricks? its just four sides

  • I bought one of these. Cheaply made but it does the job. Not sure how long it will last, but so far so good.

  • You may want two shorter ones rather than one long garden bed. I bought similar size (360 x 74 x 50) from birdies earlier this year. The middle joint of the long side of the garden bed is not well supported, so the long side of the garden bed bowed a bit.

  • Just buy any cheap metal garden bed, then apply some of this or similar: https://www.bunnings.com.au/dy-mark-500ml-etch-primer-metal-…

    • Should be painted with a top coat after primer.

Pick up some wooden pallets from the side of the road and diy if you're on a budget.
