  • I personally love the new balance 880v9s. Bought one pair for the same reason - I do a bit of everything. Once they started wearing through, I bought two more of the same pair in different colours.

    • Cheers will look them up👌

  • If you look at ebay, can get Nike Romaleos 3 for about 160-170 from UK

Reebok Nano X Great for a bit of everything.

    Ultraboosts

If you're going to be doing a bit of everything, I'd get a Crossfit orientated shoe.
Can pick up Reebok Nano's at a good price on sales, or Nike Metcon's. I wouldn't do a heap of running in them though.

You may want two pairs of shoes, a firmer sole for lifting and good running shoes for running if that's your intentions. Don't have to be doing much of it but good shoes will save your joints when running and firmer ones will offer more stability for lifting. Can't stand seeing people squatting in spongey running shoes or big air bubbles.

Adidas and Under Armour also do some good cross training shoes. The lower range UA Project Rock's or the Reign 3's would be worth a look especially if you can find them on sale.

    • This is the best advice here. Please don't squat or deadlift with Ultraboosts. Converse Chucks or Vans are great for squatting as they have a non-compressible flat sole.

  • You don’t need special shoes if you aren’t going hard at anything. Just get something all-round type.

  • nike mc trainer or legends are cheap and probably fine for most stuff. Bit more expensive and you can get metcons or nanos. Stay away from anything air max or with huge midsoles as you want stability for when you're lifting.

i have Reebok lifter PR 2s for lifting as they have firm and reasonably flat midsoles with lots of grip for power cleans, deadlifts, squats etc. Got 'em in the reebok F&F deal a few weeks ago for $63… 40% off then 25% off with the Bupa25 code. And work fine as a general gym shoe. But I wouldn't run/treadmill or jump much in them, not enough padding and too inflexible.

  • Cheers folks for the replies 👌

  • These seem like a bargain, plenty of sizes still available.
