Recommendations for 55" TV - Budget $1500

Our Sony Bravia is being (profanity) and not turning on all the time so we need a new TV.

We were looking at the Samsung K60A QLED but unsure whether its actually worth getting the base model QLED or something in the LED range that would be better for the price range.

The TV is on all day, mostly YouTube or Plex with some 4k Xbox gaming.

$1500 is the hard limit and all the TV's I've looked at lately - my brain has just turned to mush.

Please help!

Don't look past the LG 55" NANO86 which has HDMI 2.1 for your 4K gaming!

Call around and you'd probably get one of these under 1500: https://www.thegoodguys.com.au/sony-55-inches-x9000h-4k-uhd-…. Much better than the Samsung

    • Oof
      1 year manufacturers warranty
      They're taking the piss there.

      • In reality it'd be a lot longer with ACCC consumer rights so wouldn't worry about that

        • Yeah i get that, but its almost like they're using that as a fall back.
There'd be a fair few people who'd actually think it ends after 1 year and would by an 'extended warranty' which is purely commission

          • @Drakesy: Same across all major tv manufacturers (other than Hisense) and major retailers looking to gouge extra for an extended warranty that's unneeded.

            • @alfawex: Unfortunately that's the way of the retailer these days, i hear there's not a huge margin in TV's so i'm guessing they'll squeeze every last dollar.

At least my TCL has 3 years warranty. Pity that the big players can't follow suit.
