    Why no gigabit ethernet?

    • +2

      Because CHEAP.

Someone recently mentioned, that these hubs don't have 4k@60 by a rule, and that people always complain about it. This one is that 4k@60 unicorn.

See the note at the end regarding displayport 1.4. I'd assume it uses DP1.4.

        https://www.bigmessowires.com/2019/05/19/explaining-4k-60hz-…

Afaik, many devices listed on their description aren't DP1.4. Their description doesn't mention displayport.

I haven't read through the reviews so if someone is interested, I'd recommend a read and see if people actually do get 4k60hz with a compatible device.

Personally, I'm going to wait until they're more widespread and available from a slightly more reputable brands. Until then I'll keep using a USB-C to HDMI in addition to my hub.

    • Hi,

This one is gigabit ethernet, 6 in 1 USB C to HDMI Multiport Adapter with 1000M Ethernet, 4K@30HZ https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B0859TMPHT

  • @Rep
Does the 'triple display' adaptor, with 2x HDMI, support enough bandwidth for 1x HDMI cable going to 1080p@60Hz, and 1x HDMI cable going to 1440p@60Hz? I have a surface book 3 and would like to run those 2 monitors from the (frustratingly) single USB-C port.

    • I already ordered one, based on the description it should be capable of FHD & QHD at 60hz, assuming they're less power hungry than [email protected] I'm curious about the answer to this too. Either way, I'll know tomorrow :)

      • I imagine the power draw is fine, I wonder if 1440p@60Hz is < than or = to the bandwidth of 4K@30Hz.

If you do remember I'd appreciate if you could let me know how it turns out?

Yep. I'll update this thread when I get mine tomorrow. Generally get Amazon deliveries late arvo

        • I received it today and it doesn't work. Tried with 2 different 65W power supplies but it won't output to two monitors simultaneously. Tried connecting my nintendo switch, also doesn't work with either of my monitors. Extremely disappointed and will be returning it.

          • @jigna27: Pretty disappointing but seemed too good to be true. Sorry to hear it

            • @Griefbringer: Yep I was looking forward to trying it. I forgot to add, it also wasn't even outputting 1440p to my monitor, it would only do 1080p.

As a final troubleshooting effort, I also tried using it with an original switch charger plugged into the hub, still didn't output to the monitor.

              • @jigna27: Are you just using it with your switch, or a windows USB-C as well?

          • @jigna27: Hi,

Could you please take a video for us reference via [email protected]? So we know how you use it

            • @Sunny06: After over an hour of trying different combinations, I gave up and packaged it back in the box. I've already handed it back to parcel point for return.

          • @jigna27: Hi,

Confirm with the engineer, the below one can not support Switch, the Triple Display USB C HUB can not support switch, we are very sorry about that.
And the other 3 one can support it.

Triple Display USB C HUB with 2 HDMI 4K@30HZ, 8 in 1 USB-C Laptop Docking Station with 87W PD, 3 USB3.0, SD/TF Card Reader for iPad MacBook Air Pro Samsung and More (Triple Displays Only for Windows)
            The original price was: $56.98
            After code is: $39.31
            Code: LWWAVIIS

            • @Sunny06: That's fine, the switch was a secondary use case. It would have been a "nice to have", but not the primary reason for my purchase.

My main reason for buying it was for outputting to 2x monitors (1440p and 1080p) via the hub so that I only need to plug one usb c plug into the laptop (windows), I currently have to plug in 5 things (power, 2x display cables, 2x USB devices). If the hub worked as desired, I'd have all the devices going to the hub including power.

  • @Rep
Any other details on what's required for 4K60hz?

    • See my post below.

      • Displayport 1.4 compatible devices?

        • Dell Latitude 5285 to hub to HDMI cable into LG CX55 OLED.

  • I bought one of these, with the amount of stuff hanging off the hub you will want to get a USB C extension cable (+$10) especially if you are using with a laptop as the USB C cord on it is ridiculously short. You'll also need to buy a USB-C power adaptor (+$25) with a decent power rating unless you can repurpose one from a laptop or similar.

I kinda wish I just invested in a more expensive complete dock solution rather than have a Frankenstein's monster of a dock that doubled in price from having to buy extra components.

    • Well it's still a huge price difference - a proper dock vs your F-stein.

  • I bought the main hub in the op last week for $49.

4k@60hz works well, however, Amazon prime video tells me that I can only do SD content on my TV as there's no HDCP link when I try from my Dell 2 in 1 windows tablet.

I tried a few different cables, no change.

    • Hi,

The one 4k@60hz hub, do not have HDCP,
But this one has HDCP and it can work with prime video https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B088RFVR6X

      • Hi, can the Triple Display USB C HUB with 2 HDMI output 1440p@60Hz and 1080p@60Hz via 2 different HDMI cables, on a Windows laptop with USB-C? Surface Book 3

        • Hi,

If using 2 HDMI at the same time, it just 1080p, if using only one HDMI, it can reach 4K

          • @Sunny06: In example 3 of the 5th picture, it shows extending the laptop screen to 2*4K@30Hz screens with 3 independent pictures displayed?

Can 1 of those screens be 1080P@60Hz, and 1 screen 1440P@60Hz?

            • @Griefbringer: No, it can only be the same resolution, it will automatically adapt to the low-resolution screen
