What Keyboard Size Do You Prefer?

Hey fellow keyboard enthusiasts,

Planning to invest in a good keyboard soon.
Tried all the different sized keyboards and realized that I'm most comfy with full-size / TKL keyboard.
Weirdly enough, somehow it feels like the keycaps are smaller on 60%/65%/75% keyboards and my hands are cramped together even though i literally used the same keycaps - psychological effect maybe?

Hence, it got me curious on what size keyboards do most of you prefer :D

Unless you are constrained by space or using a laptop why get a smaller keyboard?

Less travel time between mouse and keyboard.
More space for the mouse, particularly for lower DPI users like my self.
      Aesthetics.

    • Smaller keyboard can be a little more ergonomic without going the way of an ergo keyboard and mouse. Assuming you're right handed, taking away the num pad means not having to stretch further to the right for your mouse, keeping your wrist in a slightly more natural position.

I've found a TKL keyboard + vertical mouse resolved my (relatively minor) wrist pain.

    • Yea, a full size keyboard forces the mouse way off to the right.

Also, there's more space on the desk right in front of you. It's actually so useful. I notice how annoying it is when I switch back to full size.

      Theoretically cheaper too.

I like em big; i like em chunky; Logitech G19S with the screen was my jam; using a low profile clickie boi these days; i miss my chunky lad

  • I use Alice style keyboard it took a while to get used to but it much better than my old TKL.

  • I use TKL but I honestly think that the vast majority of the general computer-using population could switch to a 65% without issue since this is the layout most laptops use anyway.

  • My wife can't stand anything smaller than TKL. She doesn't like TKLs either, tbh. I think I could probably be OK with a 75% keyboard, but I think I will miss the function row a lot so probably not going to go anything below that.

I probably will suffer if I get a window keyless keyboards regardless of the size, since I use a lot of short cuts using windows key a lot.
