Anyone know any reliable and cheap car servicing places in Melbourne? Looking to get my Subaru Impreza 2008 serviced and the suburu service centre is quite expensive while a few of the third party mechanics I've been to in the past seem untrustworthy.
I'm located in the Eastern suburbs if that's any help.

yes bill the owner is a nice honest guy but they are limitted on the sort of work they do just bush mechanics no good with performance cars just your basic service oil change, spark plugs, clutch, and brakes but dosent rip you off thats for sure.
On a related note, anyone know a switched on auto electrician (same area)? I am trying to find someone who isn't going to just change parts to diagnose my problem.
Do you need to retain your warranty with this service?
If not, I know a very good back yard mechanic in the Ringwood area that use to work for Subaru until recently. He just left to try a different career but still does backyard work here and there.
Unfortunately i have a new WRX and still need to go to the service centre. I know how you feel about the price as before this I use to have a 2000 WRX and paid no where near as much for services.
Hi mate, I'm quite interested in this. My warranty has just run out a few months ago so I'm free to go anywhere. However, I'm a bit sceptical of backyard mechanics, have you had any issues with this particular one?

Forewarning: the place looks dodgy as hell as you drive past it — but in reality the place is run independently by a nice guy who only runs a small shop.
Very reasonable pricing and the guy running it seems genuinely honest in what work he thinks should be done.
