The 'Eset Parental Control' sealed the deal for me……said no one.

  • Are WIFI bulbs usually good for energy efficiency? Am using LED bulbs right now but don't want to use more energy just because of WIFI connectivity

    • The power input for this TP-Link is 8.7W, as a comparison, similar light bulb from IKEA - "LEDARE" (Same brightness, no wi-fi, dimmable) consumes 9W. So personally I think its pretty efficient. Oh and TP-Link comes with free Eset key, why not :)

obviously when the bulbs are powered but are turned "off" they're still using SOME power - there needs to be an active wifi connection so that they can be turned on again.
do you know roughly how much this type wifi bulb in general would consume while they ON, but "off"

        • You can turn off manually, they don't use power then of course. They have a small amount of storage onboard to remember their configured settings. Some of these wifi bulb devices can be fussy though, so there's that.

My house is full of these types of bulbs and 95% of the time they're just fine. Only have to reconfigure every so often with a bulb or two.
