I want the cast iron to go down to that price (it has before)

    • US import on Prime Day might be worth a run, assuming they have free international shipping with no minimum limit (for Prime members), as they have in the past.

  • did it just go up? $37.75 now

    • Looks like it's out of stock

  • Does the handle get too hot to touch during high heat cooking? What are people's experience in general, do you have to use a tea towel to handle the skillet?

    • Yes and yes

Or you could get something like this: https://www.amazon.com.au/OYSIR-Silicone-Colorful-Resistant-…

I remember picking mine up from aldi for less than $5 as part of a special buy one weekend.

      Oven mitts are another option.

      • These only help to an extent. On a high flame, even with a silicon handle my cast iron skillet gets crazy hot and I have to resort to using very thick oven mitts.

ohh yes absolutely. I've noticed that for 80% of the time (like cooking eggs, stir fry's, etc.) I can manage with these handle holders.

If I'm putting the pan in the oven or using high heat for extended periods, I remove the holder, and then they definitely need the mitts.

    • We use Solidteknics ones, they solved this problem with a little bit smarter design.

  • Bummer, that was quick!
