CC Price Protection with Gift Voucher Use

I'm curious to know if price protection works when purchasing using cc and gift cards. Does the protection work on the total value of the item or the amount you actually paid with you cc for a remaining amount?

Also, does it work with vendors on eBay (the same one you purchased at)?

they'll pay out the pro-rata amount based on what percentage of the original transaction was used on the card. For example if you buy a $1000 phone using $200 giftcard/voucher and $800 on the card, if the phone drop to $500 and you make the claim, they'll refund you only 80% of the difference ($400). Haven't done it on ebay vendors but it depends on what card you have, 28 degree let you claim across different retailers I think, Coles only let you claim on the same retailer (but can be on different platform like ebay or catch)

I have claimed coles and 28d against eBay retailers, just got to make sure they are an Australian "store", so no items from China, or buying off a person.

  • Awesome, thanks guys.

  • Does anyone know if you can purchase Giftcards (Apple) on credit card and if they go on sale redeem the price protection difference?
