Need Recommendations for VPN (Linux)

Hi
Getting stuffed about with renewal by my current VPN provider.

Can I get some recommendation on a reliable provider? Prefer one that doesn't tie me to their "app", i.e. that allows me to use nmcli or the connection editor to configure with OpenVPN.

    • I had not considered that.

I'm often on the digitaloceans site, but missed that page.

      Many thanks

SlickVPN has been good to me for years now.

Thanks for quick replies, people. I'm going to with Snoovey's "roll your own" suggestions.

CyberGhost has a Linux command line app which works with OpenVPN and Wireguard.
I was able to bypass the app by using the internal API to get the wireguard key then configure wireguard myself. I guess it should be possible to do the same thing with OpenVPN.

If you plan to roll your own I recommend BinaryLane for cheap ($4/month) Australian VPS.
