  FYI, these need to be taken apart completely and cleaned regularly.
  The ones we've had over the years used screws that required triangle heads (a fitted flathead can also do the job).
  If you don't take the whole lid apart, then the scum build up is going to be pretty bad.

    Yep… These things are horrible to clean !
    And if you take the rubber gasket out, its almost impossible to get it to seat back in properly.

  Love these bottles as not many other bottles have a cover that goes over the whole drinking spout where you place your mouth and i hate how camelbak leaves theirs exposed and i know the inside of my kids bags arent the cleanest place either. But its a shame that you cannot pull the clear drinking spout off these bottles as mould grows under it so easily.

  I'm a bit pedantic about cleaning my water bottles thoroughly and found an Ello bottle to be great. The only thing is it doesn't have is a spout/straw.

  The usual o ring also forms part of the mouth piece, so it's easy to pull apart, just squeeze with your fingers and push.
  It also has a lid with a lock function.
