Tablets Are Having a Resurgence

According to worldwide reports tablets are making a comeback, that's why there's quite a few manufacturers bringing out new ones now.

Other than iPad pros and galaxy tab s7s, Lenovo (Xiaoxin pad pro) and Xiaomi (mi pad 5) and Huawei are focusing on them again.

Most of them have desktop modes now, so would you get one?

Never gonna use one, no need for it. My laptop does just fine.

Does your laptop balance well on your lap when you're trying to "push one out"? 😊

I don't think it'll be long before everything is basically a tablet.

    I prefer capsule.

  • I use tablet as a baby monitor and for kids shows in the car.

aside from that .. no other use.
I guess I could use it for 4wd maps one day.

Tablets are great - I love my Galaxy Tab S4 for watching movies in the bath and while travelling.

Tbh, there hasn't really been any innovation in this space though for many years. I have zero reason to upgrade.

I imagine any resurgence is purely WFH people rather than any true indication that there's some new worldwide craze for it.

    • Not while it's charging hopefully.

  • love my lenovo duet chromebook

use it more than my laptop

doubles as a makeshift kindle too

  • I just wish they'd make something small and fast. Any tablet that's not crap is 10". I wish the S7 FE was 8-9" rather than 12" - that's laptop sized!

If you don't mind apple, iPad mini 5 is probably suitable

      • My whole life is on Google, just CBF with more accounts and login details, but I agree.

  • I compromised and I use a Surface.

  • IPad Pro user.
Love the ipad as a supplementary device to my actual computer. I use it as a crucial part of my professional work flow now. However it will never replace a full laptop PC for me, the software is what is holding it back.

My Surface book is awesome, full laptop when I want, tablet when I want. Only downside is the cost.

  • I have a tablet that can boot into Windows 10 and Android. Best of both worlds.
