None of my friends are into smoking meat on the Weber. They make joking comments about my meat rub for some unknown reason.

  • This might actually be useful for tracking temps in bedrooms & ceiling when the temperature plummets - I'm curious to know how much my fireplace air distributor makes a difference for warmth, and how much ceiling heat loss I get, so this seems ideal

    • Buy a few sensors and return it within the return policy instead, #cheapskate

    • You'd be better off with IoT wireless room thermometers/hygrometers. Whilst this is "wireless", the probes are not… You may also not need the higher temperature ranges…?

      • If you can link me some for under $10 each, I'm sold

        • You'd need several of these to place in different locations, so not sure how you came up with the $10 budget? Xiaomi aqara temp/humidity sensors are pretty good. There are also quite a few indoor/outdoor wireless temp/humidity sensors on amazon for around $20 - outdoor unit wirelessly connects to an indoor display - but both units can be inside.

          • @bargainshooter: $45 divided by 4 probes = $11

Doesn't matter much if the probes aren't individually wireless, as long as the base is. If I could get a cheap solution that meant each probe was wireless would be great, but not what I originally was intending.

Surely there's some Arduino device with Zigbee, battery and a thermistor for under $10?

    Thanks heaps OP…
I am picking this (https://www.estrogrilloven.com/en/estro-pro-three-plus/) tomorrow and have been looking to buy the thermometer ..couldn’t be a better timing..

  • I have the 6 probe version and highly recommend it. 6 probes is definitely a bit overkill. I usually just use one probe for the meat and another to measure the internal temperature.

  • Thanks OP, picked one up under the Bunnings price beat for $40.50
