it is real. ubank rate is heading south fast. they have term deposit now not 6.11% but 5.91%. this is done before rba rate decision on next tuesday.
for late ozbargain fellow would be better to lock in this rate for further rate cut in days time

This would suit a forum comment really. It's not a bargain. Ubank at-call rate dropped from 6.11% to 6.01% (from memory) a couple weeks ago. So most people would have seen this coming. I'm locked in at 6.11pc till July12.
We savers are pretty lucky in Oz compared with the low rates offered in Ca, Us, Ja, Uk etc. Like to get the 10% offered in India if it's possible? Anyone know.

I locked in at 6.75% a while back with another bank, for another 18 months.
Can see you're losing sleep over it ;) Good topic for a forum discussion, but not a Bargain.
Oh wow, lucky I believed all the comments about rate cut and put to term deposit a week ago.
Otherwise I will be kicking myself, looks like rate cut is 99% real!

Grrr, was gunna lock some dough away tomorrow, as I heard the interest rates may go down on Tuesday. Thought I would beat them, well they beat me!!
Was other alternatives are there, either term deposit or high interest accounts around 6%?
I apply for ubank term deposit on last Thursday at 6.11. what a chance of luck! I still have my application and waiting for my funds to add in. Will have a week before I put in my funds to the account. so still get 6.11. Surely last customers for this rate in the market today

Where did you get 6.11?
So how come it's a good deal then?
