Suggestions for Office-friendly Jackets?

Currently going through a bloody freezing cold snap at the minute. Just looking for suggestions on what Office-friendly jackets are available that can keep me all nice and warm during this winter season.

Budget is up to $100. Needs to be of a decent quality.

Thanks!

    • Looks smart and reviews are pretty positive. Will definitely look into that, thanks!

      • No worries. Within budget, pretty warm and comfy, doesn't make fabric noise as you move around and highly compressible to shove into bag when required. Never machine wash.

Wonder if it's maybe Melbourne CBD office buildings, but does anyone else find that they keep it quite warm? As in the building corp will usually set the normal thermostat at 17~ or so.

From what I've heard, it's the optimal energy efficient level.

I usually can't wear a jacket otherwise it's too hot - albeit I move around for meetings and whatnot which means I don't just sit and work at a work station.

I'd suggest maybe UNIQLO - heattech if you want unders and maybe a light vest for overs.
Kathmandu jackets and vests are still very popular but will push that price range.

    • Not too sure, it's freezing in the morning when I wake up and in the office I still find it somewhat cold well into the afternoon. No thermostat as far as I'm aware either.

I'll look into their jackets and vests though, thanks for the suggestions

          Hahaha +1 to you both

I literally just got off a call to the team in Sydney who were saying they're having one of the coldest days they could remember. (At 6C this morning) hahaha

If you need something a little more smart looking then try a Pea/Melton Coat. Myer has been having a sale on these but might be slightly over your budget.

  • I recently got a Kathmandu softshell jacket for the office (mainly to/from rather than in), and am pretty happy with it so far.

  • I found a really nice black jacket for work at Zara $150 from memory

What exactly is an office friendly jacket?

    • Smart casual or more formal

  • I'm in the market for something similar, just a versatile black jacket that keeps you warm without having to layer up massively - but I don't want it to be filled with down.
Apparently I'm searching for a unicorn.

    • Look for a Harrington style jacket.
