Used Renault Clio RS 200 Sport - What Were The Prices before COVID?

Hi guys, I'm on the market for a used Clio RS 200 and was wondering if anyone knew how much they were going for pre COVID?

I would've thought being a not so popular model (compared to Mazda, Honda etc…) it would be less effected but seeing as they're still going for 20k+ I may be wrong.

Covid tax is on all cars sadly…. even cheap runabout's are now double the price

Why does it matter what they used to cost?

If you want to buy now, you’ve got to pay the going rate.

      Perhaps consider a DeLoeren?

Used to get for well under 15k. Just beware they have a transmission problem, Google it. Nice cars though, that Liquid Yellow is incredible. ALL cars have gone up in value, really bad time to be buying and that goes for new and used.

    • Honestly I don't think they're going back down in price so if ya need a car ya need a car. Everything is going to cost more in post covid world.

Oh and as a Renault guy yes the LY is amazing!

      • Out of curiosity if you have a clio is it an rs or different model?

          I've got "Clio 2s" so ph1 172 and ph2 182.
Very different but for versatility the 200s are good things with the 4 doors, bit newer and turbo.

    • More common issue is with the cold side boost pipes popping off after 80-120k kms. Although its an easy fix with aftermarket parts.

  • Have a RS Clio Sport, great car, never an issue except some weird air con smell which (hopefully) is sorted at next service with an air filter change. We especially like the passenger doors for rear ppl, and having the seats fold down / open for larger cargo. Of course no apple carplay/andriod auto but bluetooth etc, the display is slow and annoying, but when you start driving the little beast you sort of ignore all of that and get on with driving it….for context we were shopping for either a polo gti, vw beetle (dodged a bullet), toyota 86 etc, but kept coming back to the Clio. Wife's choice as its her car.

    • Hey mate, did you ever get that weird aircon smell fixed? I have a 2014 rs200 with the exact same issue at the moment. No idea how to fix it

      • its supper annoying and STILL got it..sort of smells like hay or leaves or minor mould.
        We have done:
        1. Full flush from Renault during service
        2. Changed all air filters related to air con
        3. Automative air con guy (not renault related) checked and couldn't find anything easy - suggest would need to remove a bunch of parts to get at it, approx $2k to do that :(

Right now we are just living with it, with a spray can of anti mildew spray that we spray if we smell it.
Strangely it only exists when air con on, and temp is either 22C or 23C. Not normally if hotter or not normally at 21C.
So we freeze in winter and put on the heated seats!
If you do get a fix, let us know as well!……
There was some mentions of temp fix by making the blower on full before stopping the car etc…from renault forums…..didn't really work for us…

        • Hey mate sorry I forgot to update but I took it to renotech in January and it turns out it was an issue with the cabin air filter not being properly installed. They fixed that and it stopped the smell.

  • Better not knowing it actually otherwise you might feel crap for paying the COVID tax.
