Smart Watch Suitable for a Senior

Hi, I am looking to purchase a smartwatch that would be suitable for my elderly father.
His eye sight isn't very well and I would prefer one with heart rate and other health related functions, fall detection would be great too.
I have come across the Fitbit Sense, Versa and Apple watch but he doesn't have an iPhone to pair it with.
Any other suggestions on what could be suitable?
Thanks.

    i would stick with Apple

  • Honestly the Apple Watch is the easiest to use and by far has the best implementation of the heart health + fall detection.

Almost worth buying an iPhone for.

    • you can use them independently to make calls, etc. and there's probably some mode for monitoring seniors.

  • If this is one of the “elderly” is actually a 65yro who uses a smartphone no dramas, or “elderly” 95yro who has no idea about computers, the answers vary.

And what are you seeking to achieve with a smart watch? Doesn’t sound like hitting the gym to measure heart rate is the primary goal. If it is about locating them if they wander off, or allowing them to summon help if they get into trouble, there might be better solution.

Whatever watch you get, remember that he has to be bothered charging it quite frequently!
