Scam SMS - Your Item Is Being Held at Our Dist Centre

Received an SMS this morning about how one of my item is being held, and they are asking me to pay $2 to release it.

THIS IS A SCAM, DO NOT PAY THEM

You can google the tracking number "FEX017583028GB" and a lot of people on twitter received the same thing. A lot of my purchases these days are from here so not sure if a purchase here leaked it or elsewhere.

  • the SMS i received was from DHL

  • As long as they didn't address you by name, chances are it wasn't leaked. Most likely an incremental bot that sends a text to 0400 000 000 and then 0400 000 001 etc…

    • That's a very good point, my name was not on the SMS.

Do you mean you found the items on OzBargain?

No one buys from OzBargain, it is not a seller or a selling platform.

    • Thanks, been a member since 2011 and that is brand new information

A general SMS send to more then 200K mobile.

Atleast they have tap 2 % users and they scammed them out and scammer made their monthly quota and will again send this message.

you will receive this message either on Friday afternoon or Monday morning when you are not focusing lot and just give them access to your CC and bank account.

  • Government and ISPs are indirectly in on this scam/spam.

    • ISPs get money from SMS, Phone, etc spams.
    • LibLab love spamming voters, even if its misleading
    • Customers block number, discarded number gets given to an unlucky customer. Joy!

Unknown caller is another anti customer tool or as victims like to call it, a government-approved harassment tool.

Ah, my axe now has been sharpened.

  • Not new, I've been getting these messages for a couple of years.
