  In the market for a (non-down) jacket that won't require loads of layering in mid winter when temps are sub-6 degrees.

  Looking at the Macpac souwest, but with this deal maybe even the arcteryx nuclei.

  Anyone with knowledge/insight on either of these choices

    What is your planned use? I have all 3 of the atoms but not the nuclei. The difference will be utility when active (breathability really) vs extra warmth.
    So- if you plan on skiing in it, I'd go the Atom LT. If you want to walk around town in a nice jacket on a cold day, the nuclei.

      The latter. Pre dawn walking the dog mostly, but an easy chuck on for the walk to work or whatever. Could be overkill in Sydney though.

      See I'm more Atom LT for walking around in/belaying and Nuclei for activities (mainly bouldering and trad climbing)

    Thanks. Plenty of womens gear in the Outlet but not much for us blokes.

    It's a huge reduction on the Alpha SV though. Looking at that as a replacement for my Theta for ice climbing
