    If you can, just buy an interface that has more than enough gain for the SM7B and don't bother with the CL-1. Speaking as someone who has a CL-1, SM7B and interface and should have taken my own advice.

      What interface would you recommend?
      Single mic, into the computer, reasonably priced.

        Audient iD4 MKII can be had for $300 or so, and is very well regarded. Wish I'd bought one rather than my Scarlett.

        Motu M2 is OOS right now but can be had for ~$260 on Amazon, generally regarded as best in class as far as I'm aware.

          @kbw: I use Motu M2 and just got this one from this deal. Coming tomorrow! Hopefully it can give enough gain W/O a CL-1
