Hey there, simple question does anyone know what the restrictions are to adding trellis to a existing 1.5m front fence. Hornsby Shire Council Sydney is the local area.

Before ringing I would try to google to see if the 1.5m is okay for a front fence as it seems a bit high for a front fence outside the inner city IMHO.
i checked hornsby council regulations and 1.5m is fine for a sloping piece of land. It's in the subclause nsw planning portal.
So i noticed that a few other people in my area have added trellis to the top of the fence and i want to know if it is legal to do so
Ta either legal to do so or those owners (and possibly council) don’t care anyway.
Last I checked, HSC allowed a maximum height of 1.8m for a fence, so you could add a trellis provided you don't go over the height restriction. This was over a decade ago, so YMMV
