the different between them for me is the slots of ram, screen and gpu, and the windows hello camera?which one should I choose? Or any other suggestions?Should I wait for new MacBook release?

Is it just me, or are those two laptops pretty expensive given their specs? Seems most laptops with 3060s are around the $1.5-$2.5k range. I guess the higher price could be justified by the 2k/4k screen, but maybe look at the lenovo legion laptops for a better value options that still offer a better screen than the traditional 1080. Just a thought!

Dell’s higher tier laptops are like Razer’s, arguably overpriced with perhaps better built quality

      • From my opinion they’re Thin and light for this tier?

  • Not goods prices imo. But if you decide to get one, the Alienware is going to be better for gaming and the XPS as a day to day laptop.
Note that a high resolution display puts a lot of strain of the GPU, a QHD display with a RTX3060 isn't going to worth well with modern titles.

I have education discount plus 100$ voucher plus now 10% discount on ShopBack

Careful with using coupons/vouchers, they could potentially invalidate the cashback. T&Cs usually state by using codes not listed on the cashback site will make your purchase not eligible for cashback.

    • How about 3070 vision of x15? After my calculation is around 3400$.

  • To answer your question up top, yes thin and light would be a factor. But keep in mind that at around 2KG, these laptops are hardly thin and light as a Surface or MacBook would be.

On another note, are you a gamer OP? If you are, then keep in mind that the Alienware X15s use a low TGP GPU (formerly known as Max Q) so performance is going to take a hit. Another option would be the ASUS Strix G15 or Lenovo 5i (and above) which have high TGP GPUs.

Also that if you are going with a RTX3060, please don’t go for a 1440p screen and above. Like the above comment stated, it’s barely capable of handling the resolution count when gaming.

Another thing about Dell is that they normally inflate their price so that they can heavily discount it later down the road. So like what everyone else is saying you are paying more than it’s worth. If you must choose the two, go with the gaming one because it offers performance to buck ratio. If a RTX3070 X15 is around $3400, it is not too bad, but not great value either.

But form my research the new razer blade 14 (100w tdp)also around 1.78kg , Strix G15 or Lenovo 5i are much heavier for me? But either way thank you for response. I think I may can wait for the new MacBook Pro. I think you are right about it is not too bad, but not great value either.
