  • love these things, but gosh, they are LOUD.

you'll hear it blasting in your bedroom (even at 50%) during summer to circulate air in your room…bit too noisy for sleep in a normal size bedroom

Really? Ours is pretty quiet, but I suppose we aren’t maxing it out. It gets a bit of a roar then. You don’t need to do that unless you live in a cathedral I would have thought.

Great price. Bought one for another room.

Started to post the deal and it already has been by YNWA!

    Thanks mate.
Been waiting for this price for months.

Thanks! Got one to ventilate better in my kitchen.

I have one of these, great for circulating air in my office. They can be a little loud, but I mostly have ear phones on anyway.

Would buy it all over again, great unit.

  • I thought the DC models were meant be quieter.

After seeing the above comments I am reluctant to make the purchase.

    • Apparently they're not, and the power consumption difference isn't that huge either.

    • +1

only if you fully crank it up, but trolling along at lower speeds they can be quiet, and still do the job. Sometimes people think it needs to be full speed when it doesn’t.

  • Why hasn't this generated as much attention as when it was on sale last year for $149?

    • +2

honestly don't know, perhaps since its so damn cold right now, no one is thinking of fans or things that move chilly air around the room to shiver their bones.

But come summer this will be awesome.

      • +3

It's still awesome for winter, as many houses are heated with split system ACs or have electric heaters installed in random spots. The result is well heated ceilings. So you point this powerful fan at your ceiling and it helps with convection. That's why some ceiling fans have "winter mode" - to point the hot air just at the ceiling downwards and mix with the coldness there.

  • Anyone in WA (Perth metro) willing to do a group buy? Tight arse here without Prime account.

Or should i wait for a better deal in the next few weeks?

    • +1

You're not going to find a better deal on air circulators

  • So mine arrived yesterday. I love the fan, but I'm wondering, does anyone else get a loud vibration noise when you turn it up any more than about 1/4 - 1/2 of the way or do I have a defective unit?

    • ours is just loud…no vibration.

      Could be:
      1) defective unit - loose nuts inside; or
      2) vibration caused by placing the fan on an uneven surface, and the higher power generated might cause more movement = sound

  • Mine hasn't even shipped yet
