  • I find it interesting the recommended dose is 1g of vitamin c per day according to this bottle. Shame the research on the topic seems pretty weak.

    • Does the bottle mentiones 1g of vitamine C or 1g of the stuff from this bottle? Because the absorption might be poor, right?

Also, the title could onclude the word "Chewable" as it largely defines the product.

I'd say they were more suckable than chewable.

      • Seeing as it's mainly ascorbic acid I can't see why it would absorb any poorer than your standard vitamin c containing fruit, although I don't claim to be an expert on the subject.

    • Some doctors say you can take up to 2g a day without any harm. I take that dose when starting to feel unwell, seems to be working.

Zinc is also a good one to take when feeling under the weather.

        • Cannot take too much of zinc - can overdose.

          • @vovka: Yeah, no 1g doses of zinc. Plus gotta take zinc with food or youre in for a bad time.

            • @Jenny Death: I haven't been taking my zinc with food, what's the bad news?

              • @bobvegas: Unless youre taking slow release, pure zinc tablets can cause GI upset and nausea among other things.

    • Daily recommended dose for a male adult is only 90mg. Why 500mg per tablet?
