So What Can I Do with Revolut?

I just realised most people would have UP Banking by Bendigo Bank. It is integrated with Wise I learned today, so you don't really need another account.

Therefore, the question I have is, is there really any point of standalone accounts like Revolut and Wise by themselves? Is there really anything that interesting about Revolut? I'm almost 100% certain most people won't ever touch those parts of the platform outside of the money transfers.

Other: I noticed a lot of people seem to be concerned with Revolut's Onfido, but honestly what's the worst they can do, make a deepfake of my face?

You must be grandfathered in then. It's listed under their paid plan now.

        • Ah, makes sense. I was a beta tester.

@justdigi: I signed up only a week ago and also have the free virtual cards. Maybe its just for a trial period…

Crypto, commodities, transfers, foreign currency savings, virtual cards, airport lounge access and cashback (like Cashrewards or shopback) - they add more features every few months. Overseas also has share trading, insurance and more, so expect that in Australia soon too.

As a dual citizen it’s most useful for me that I can have SEPA bank account details in the EU and an Australian BSB, but they’re the same account/card. That way I can receive money in both places and pay bills, without risking running out of cash in the account.

I also use the virtual cards when paying in dodgy places like the PMR. I can add money using my rewards Visa card in Australia and spend it on a different card number, so when it’s stolen it can’t be reused and I don’t have to reissue my Australian card.

    • PMR - Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic?

Very specific if thats the case!

Yeah. Every time I’ve used a card there it has been stolen. Fascinating place otherwise.

  • I personally contacted support after returning from the trial to the free service and got refunded the cards value. Think the cost is $34ish at minimum now to receive the card. virtual should still be free.
