[Back Order] Razer Iskur Gaming Chair with Built-in Lumbar Support $583.20 + Delivery @ JB Hi-Fi

80

Just saw this on JB's website when having a look for a gaming chair. The RRP from JB on this is $729 so seems to be a pretty decent deal, however I have seen a few reviews that say that this isn't the best chair for bigger people so keep that in mind.

Never bought a gaming chair, never saw the need for one. My regular office chair does just fine, which I got for a quarter of the price.. Is it just pure marketing or is it actually more comfortable than your average office chair?

Pure marketing. They're not actually comfortable or good if you have a bad back.

I agree, those side lumbur / butt supports are pretty annoying as I sometimes like to cross one of my legs onto the chair .

Those Gaming / Racing chairs are designed for cars to prevent you from sliding around under hard cornering. I dont see the point in those at home.

    • I was very cautious about getting any sort of chair that wasn't an officer chair…but then once Lockdown 2/3 started, I put in for 2 SecretLabs softweave Titans… XL for me. Well, with the ongoing working from home, I reckon I spend a ton of time on mine and it is way better than < $300 chairs I used to use for just an hour or two each night.

Not plugging them, and not handing out referral links…as chairs are different for everyone. But I'm happy with this chair given the amount of time I have to sit on it.

      • How tall are you? I’m in the market for a new chair and secret lab is one on my list

    • Typically lasts a lot longer, better quality materials and thicker foam cushioning.

Keep in mind a lot of people feel a bit sore or uncomfortable for a while with good foam mattresses as their backs adjust to it. This happened to me with my Koala mattress and I appreciated it a lot better once I adjusted.

I have not owned this chair but I have tried my brother's gaming chair (forgot which brand). Was comfrotable and looked like new despite years of daily use. Some people prefer something a bit less firm though, I imagine.

    • Yeh, i had a secret lab omega honestly not worth the price

For $10 more you can get the Ergohuman. Your lower back will thank you.

For $354.20 less you can get the Markus from IKEA. His lower back and wallet will thank him.

      • Or for nothing you can check on Gumtree / Facebook market giving away free computer chairs.

      • +1 for the Markus, been using it for a week so far @ 8hrs a day and it’s been perfect. Price is right too!

        • How tall are you and weight? If you don’t mind sharing

          • @Danstar: I have the Markus right now, and im returning it this week.

Ive had it for 2 months, and the foam padding has collapsed, so im basically sitting on the hard surface below.
            I'm 6'2 90kg for reference.

Other than that its a great chair, it was really comfy and supportive, but sitting on it for 8-10 hours a day now is a chore.

Ive gone for a Ergohuman V2 full mesh, hopefully thats better as there is a far less generous return policy…

            • @carra23: I'm similar to you, just an inch taller and a few extra kegs lol

          • @Danstar: 175cm and 70kg.

Is that because their lower back will put itself out of it's misery due to the pain? The Markus is rubbish

        • Really? Just looked it up and thought it looked ok

          So hard!!!

I don't know about rubbish, I've had one a couple of months and find it to be comfortable and supportive. Lumbar and headrest aren't adjustable, but fit perfect for my height. The upper width is wide enough so my shoulders are on the mesh and not hitting the bars. Cushion is comfortable, not too firm or soft. I guess it's all subjective and vary to body dimensions.

Got a Herman Miller, never looked back and would never consider these.
